The Ultimate List of 2026 Fantasy Football Players Who Are Making a Comeback
The 2025 fantasy football season tested everyone’s patience. Injuries piled up, quarterbacks crumbled, and entire offenses stalled at the worst times. Big names burned early draft picks and left managers staring at early playoff exits.
Now, the page turns to 2026. Coaching changes are in motion, free agency will reshape depth charts, and injured stars are getting healthy. This is where smart fantasy managers gain an edge by spotting rebound candidates before the hype explodes.
Here are the players ready to climb back into elite territory:
Quarterbacks Ready to Reclaim the Throne

Lamar / IG / Lamar Jackson enters 2026 with something to prove. The 2025 season never found rhythm, as injuries limited his mobility and cut into his rushing totals.
The Ravens’ quarterback’s legs are the engine of his fantasy value, and they simply were not at full power. Before the midseason setback, Jackson averaged over 40 rushing yards per game and looked sharp as a passer.
If he returns fully healthy, he jumps right back into the top tier. A locked-in Jackson is still one of the most dangerous fantasy quarterbacks in the league.
Jayden Daniels also deserves a place in the comeback conversation. His rookie season set a high bar, but injuries limited him to only seven appearances in 2025. Missing that much time slowed his development, though the talent still showed up whenever he stepped on the field.
In his first five games, Daniels averaged more than 22 fantasy points per outing. His ability to create yards with his legs gives him a weekly ceiling that most quarterbacks simply do not have. If Washington takes even a modest step forward as a roster, Daniels could quickly work his way back into the top-five fantasy discussion.
Running Backs Chasing Health and Better Situations
Breece Hall spent much of the season spinning his wheels. The New York offense struggled to sustain drives, scoring opportunities dried up, and he finished as RB22 after many fantasy managers expected far more. The disappointment had little to do with his ability.
The skill set is still elite. Hall remains a true three-down option with burst, vision, and strong receiving ability out of the backfield. Place him in a more efficient offense, and his production could jump quickly. Even better health across the roster could lead to a significant rebound.
Kenneth Walker III continued to produce, but the workload trend raised some concerns. His average carries dropped to the lowest point of his career, and the goal-line touches that once boosted his totals became rare. That shift limited his ability to deliver big weekly fantasy numbers.
If Walker lands with a team that views him as the featured runner, his ceiling changes fast. He has proven he can rip off chunk plays and carry an offense. Opportunity is the missing ingredient.
Bucky Irving dealt with a rough sophomore season. Injuries sidelined him for seven games, and his yards per carry dipped to 3.4. That stat line does not tell the full story.
In his first four games, Irving averaged 18 PPR points and looked explosive. Tampa Bay’s backfield could clear out in free agency, leaving him as the primary option. With improved health and volume, he could surge into RB1 range.
Saquon Barkley also lands on this list after a strange 2025 campaign. The offensive line battled injuries, and efficiency numbers slipped across the board. His trademark long runs became rare.
Wide Receivers Set to Reclaim Elite Status

Justin / IG / Justin Jefferson suffered through quarterback chaos. The revolving door under center crushed timing and consistency.
However, the Vikings’ wide receiver’s skill set has not faded. He still separates with ease and commands defensive attention every snap. Stability at quarterback alone could vault him back into top-three territory.
CeeDee Lamb experienced his quietest season since his rookie year. Target competition increased, and the offense lacked its usual sharpness. That combination capped his weekly explosions.
If Dallas refocuses the offense around him, Lamb’s target share will spike again. He has already proven he can dominate when fed consistently. One down season does not erase elite talent.
Garrett Wilson continues to battle instability at quarterback. Despite that, he keeps stacking 1,000-yard seasons. His consistency under tough conditions deserves respect.
