Jeff Bezos’ $800M Superyacht Has Arrived in Auckland

Jeff Bezos’ superyacht Koru has reached Auckland, drawing attention as it entered the city’s waterfront. The 127-meter vessel passed Rangitoto before docking at Wynyard Quarter.

What Makes Koru Notable?

Oceanco built the three-masted yacht in the Netherlands and delivered it to Bezos in 2023. Reports value it near US$500 million, or about NZ$800 million.

However, Bezos’ presence remains unclear. Officials have not confirmed whether the Amazon founder traveled aboard Koru or how long the yacht will remain in Auckland.

Koru and Abeona

Instagram | @harryhewitt48 | Koru combines a three-masted design with a support ship that carries extra equipment and a helipad.

The yacht’s name comes from the Māori word for an unfurling fern frond. It represents new life and growth, giving the vessel a name tied to renewal.

Koru typically travels with Abeona, a support ship that carries a helipad and extra equipment. Therefore, the main yacht can maintain its spacious design while relying on the companion vessel for added facilities.
